Tequilab
Tequilab brought a disco-in-the-lab concept to the Engineering Student Centre through a collaboration between Biomedical, Chemical and Manufacturing Engineering. The event paired energetic disco styling with themed cocktails and a fully customizable margarita bar. It sold 149 tickets and welcomed approximately 170 attendees, with the margarita bar selling out by 11:30 p.m.
My Role
As one of six coordinators, I led most of Tequilab's marketing and creative direction. I developed the Instagram campaign, cocktail recipes and menus, helped shape the decorations and overall disco-laboratory identity, and secured a beverage sponsorship from Black Fly. My work connected the event's visual concept with the guest experience, from the first promotional post through the customizable margarita bar.
Planning & Operations
Delivering a large licensed event required the team to coordinate permits, budgeting, alcohol service, security and purchasing while collaborating across three engineering programs. Demand planning was especially important for the customizable bar, where guests could select their margarita combinations. Selling through the available margarita supplies by 11:30 p.m. demonstrated the strength of both attendance and guest engagement.
