FORM Smart Swim Goggles

March 2026Engineering Design & DevelopmentTeam Project

This redesign project explored how FORM smart swim goggles could provide a more comfortable, secure and adaptable fit. The team focused on common pain points in the eye gaskets, nose bridge and head strap while preserving the product's existing smart-swimming functionality.

Design Overview

The proposed redesign uses thinner silicone eye gaskets to reduce pressure, a textured head strap to limit slipping, a cam-lock buckle for reliable adjustment and an elastic neoprene nose bridge that adapts across users. These changes target the trade-off between painful over-tightening and leakage caused by an insecure fit.

Development & Feasibility

Each design change was evaluated for compatibility with existing sports-equipment and manufacturing methods. The thinner gasket requires a limited mold modification, strap texture can be integrated into molding, and the cam-lock mechanism draws on a proven adjustment system. The elastic bridge reduces the need for multiple rigid nose-bridge sizes while improving adaptability.
